ISISDBC - a connector to ISIS databases

A new tool for developing WEB applications

What it is:

ISISDBC – CDS/ISIS Database Connectivity – is an OCX component providing easy access to data stored in CDS/ISIS databases. Although it does not comply the ODBC standard, for those programmers, who are familiar with ODBC and its use from the level of scripting languages ISISDBC is an easy-to-use ODBC-like interface to CDS/ISIS databases. So one can use it within ASP, CFL or any other scripting language where OCX components can be applied.

General functions

Searching in the CDS/ISIS databases with ISIS Query Language
Master file functions (taking data from given record, field, repeatable field or subfield)
Inverted file functions (taking data from inverted file)

ISISDBC working with ISISDLL ver. 5.x - better for those who know very well print formatting language (though REF and L functions don't work properly.
ISISDBC working with ISISDLL ver. 7.x - although REF and L functoins work here, with this version of ISISDLL the print formatting language is very simple and week - at least for the IF statements (as in ISISDLL v.7), so it is better for those who prefer formatting with ASP. Another advantage of this component could be a more reliable search function.
